The blue E-sticker can identify eligible electric vehicles registered abroad as electrically powered vehicles in Germany. Depending on the city or region, this may allow access to specific local benefits.*

Now available in two versions
Depending on the vehicle and the preferred mounting position, you can now choose the blue E-sticker for application inside the rear window or on the outside of the rear of the vehicle.
Outside application
This version is applied to the outside of the rear of the vehicle – practical when there is no suitable rear window, when the rear window is dark-tinted, or when outside mounting is preferred.
You can select the preferred version directly when ordering.

On public roads and parking areas where a parking ticket would normally be required, appropriately marked electric vehicles can park free of charge for up to three hours. This does not apply to private parking areas.

Electric vehicles with the appropriate identification can park free of charge at Hamburg parking meters within the applicable maximum parking time. Under the current legal framework, this privilege is scheduled to apply until 31 December 2026.
As a rule, use a parking disc. In areas with digital parking enforcement, the licence plate must instead be entered at the meter or via the parking app.

Appropriately marked electric vehicles may park free of charge in public parking spaces in Hanover. The applicable maximum parking time still applies and individual areas may be excluded. Under the current rules, the benefit applies until the end of 2026.

Within the designated central area, appropriately marked electric vehicles can use fee-based public on-street parking free of charge for up to two hours. Any shorter locally posted maximum parking time still applies.

Fully electric vehicles can park free of charge in municipally managed parking spaces throughout the city. The city reviews this rule annually; as of 2026 it remains in force until further notice.
Use a parking disc where local signage or a maximum parking time requires the arrival time to be shown.

Especially useful for electric vehicles registered abroad
German electric vehicles are often identifiable by the letter “E” at the end of the number plate. Vehicles registered abroad often do not have this German marking. The blue E-sticker can serve as visible proof where the vehicle meets the statutory requirements and no equivalent identification has been issued in its country of registration.
