Online registration - iKfz - (Germany only)

Thanks to the iKfz online registration (Germany only), you can register or re-register your vehicle conveniently from home. You will then receive a registration letter with which you can use the car straight away. The vehicle documents that are necessary for an environmental sticker will only be sent to you later by post. How can you then obtain an environmental sticker from us? Very simple. During the ordering process, upload the official notification that you received online from the admissions office. The new license plate and the chassis number are already there. Since that is not sufficient to issue the environmental sticker, we need a photo of the old vehicle registration document from you or, if it is no longer available, or, in the case of a new car, it has never been issued, a photo of your COC document. This means we can compare the technical data and create the environmental sticker you ordered and send it directly to you.

Electric cars registered abroad can, like German electric cars, benefit from special discounts. These discounts require a blue E-badge.

ATTENTION: The blue badge does NOT replace the green particulate matter badge, which is still required for German environmental zones! The blue badge is stuck to the rear window, while the green badge must be attached to the windshield.

The following advantages arise from using the blue badge for foreign vehicles:

  • There are no fees for parking vehicles in designated parking spaces.
  • Roads and paths specially designated for electric cars can be used with the badge.
  • Electric cars with a blue badge can drive in zones that have a restriction on passage for other cars, except electric cars.

The advantages mentioned are only valid if they are appropriately signposted and/or arranged.
Which vehicles are entitled to a blue E-badge?

Vehicles within the meaning of the Electromobility Act:

  • Battery electric vehicles (BEV)
  • Fuel cell vehicles (FCEV)
  • Plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV)

Additional requirements for plug-in hybrid vehicles:

  • A carbon dioxide emission of no more than 50 grams per kilometer driven OR
  • A range in purely electric operation of at least 40 kilometers. (If first registered before 2018, at least 30 kilometers)

What is needed to get an E-sticker?

One of the following documents must be presented:

  • Registration certificate/vehicle registration document or
  • Certificate of conformity (CoC) - for hybrid vehicles
